Bob,

I've used Aerostitch riding gear for many years.  My Roadcrafter pants are now 17 or so years old and still in use.  If something were to happen to them, I would consider a pair of Darien pants as a replacement.

I always knew I'd get old.  How fast it happened was a bit of a surprise, though.

Welcome back, (once again as I recall). I also hope you have dealt with the medical stuff once and for all. Some close friends have had to deal with it so I realize it can be tough.

At any rate, I have been using a pair of the Darien pants from Aerostich since late 2007. They have been through many adventures and continue to keep me dry and protected. I have retreated them a couple of times over the years, but the Stich continues to impress. Many here will complain about the cost, but broken down over the years I have been using the stuff, it really becomes a good bang for the buck. I could have saved much by getting this stuff before. I spent lots on gear that didn't live up to expectations. (Probably could have bought two complete Darien jackets, pants, liners.

Would a 2013 model year need the "roller job" done also?

Another vote for the Motoport gear..

I've been using the stuff for years.. Comfortable and protection that is second to none.. Also, it is custom fit for you.

Oh.. Stelvio's rule! Good luck with the search for both.

Goes by mfg date, not model year. Late 2012 mfg should be rollered. I would ask owner to look under valve cover to be sure.

I've got a couple of pairs of over pants.  One mesh, another one perforated (with a hole in it -not mesh,  yes it saved some skin)

Get some that fit.  Many have adjustable knee pads, this allows you to raise and lower your belt line. Some don't, so you have no length adjustability.

Glad to read your story and you're back on the road.

You must have read my mind.  I was going to put my 2013 Stelvio up for sale tonight and saw your post.  It is, of course, a roller cam model and it has now 1,411 miles on it.  The 1,000mi service was just recently done so you could fly in to Pittsburgh and ride it home.  I bought it new last year and ride my Norge and 990 more often so I must thin the herd.   It is the beautiful orange color and is as close to a new machine as you can get.  I have fixed the common problems such as replacing the short-prone driving lights with Rigid Inds. LED units.  If you email me at rx7speed93@hotmail.com I can send you pictures.  At some point I will figure how to post pictures on the site.  More information will follow later tonight.  I am pricing it with out the bags since many people like to put on the Norge bags for a cleaner look.  $10,300.

That's a beautiful Stelvio up for sale...hell of a price for basically a new bike with a a few extra goodies!

Are the mirror stems on that extra tall or is that how they come when they are wired for lights?

I don't want to hijack Bob's thread but the turn signals are low ala the Norge and the mirrors, since I am tall are tall, solid stalks instead of the hollow wired ones which vibrated badly.
