Updated Cruise control retrofit?

Is it possible to put the new style cruise control from the MGX on a '14 Cali 1400 Touring?  my cruise control button is a sunnofagun to activate, sometimes requiring 20-30 attempts.  Needs fixin', so I was wondering if the upgraded unit would work.
