120 volt tankless tire inflators

I have no need or desire for a tank-type air compressor.  Can anyone share a recommendation for a 120 volt tankless tire inflator?  Or ones to avoid?

I like the idea of the bread loaf size device mounted to the garage wall with a length of hose.  For bicycles and motorcycles alike I've always just grabbed the ol' heavy duty Schwinn tire pump and top off a tire with 8-10 strokes.  But she's getting long in the tooth and I'm getting lazy.

I've got a 12v Slime inflator tucked away on my FJR for emergencies, but I want 120 volt for in the garage.  Jumping off a vehicle battery is not convenient.  I've not seen a model that converts from 120 to 12 volt.

Not an answer, but most 12V inflators are intended for intermittent use. Putting one on a 120V adapter and inflating car tires would tend to kill it quickly.

I have a sears tire inflator out in SoCal. I bought it when her kid had tire problems with his car. Just trying to get by cheaply. Not recommended.  Noisy, vibrates like mad, and has to really work at it to get to 40 psi for motorcycle tires.

Where I used to work we had one, Black & Decker name on the outside.  It worked pretty well, I used it a couple of times to fix flats on motorcycle tires, and a co-worker used it at least once after plugging a flat tire on his pickup.  (There was a recycling business across the parking lot, and most of their customers were contractors with old aluminum or vinyl siding.  No shortage of roofing nails anywhere on that road.)

A quick google brought up this, I have no direct experience but the brand is generally pretty reliable, and the price isn't bad.

And Chuck is right about the vibes, it would walk around but usually was self-limiting by being leashed to the wheel by the hose.  Not enough strain on anything to be bothersome.

bought my wife one at Loewes that works on both 120 AC and 12vdc; about $40 IMS????
She is happy after learning how use it (set desired pressure, then start)!!!

the one Howard posted looks like the Sears compressor we have out in SoCal. Probably, like many tools, the same Chinese company makes them all and just puts different names on them so the salesman knows how much to charge for them.

It may not suit your needs, but I find the Ryobi 18V tire inflator sold by Home Depot to be very handy. Of course, it entails buying the separate battery and charger, but I have a number of other 18V Ryobi tools that use the same battery.

What I like about this Ryobi tire inflator is the cordless flexibility provided by the 18V battery, the built-in pressure gauge (decently accurate) and the on-board storage of various adapters for tires, bicycles, sports equipment, etc. Here's the one I have, followed by a simpler, cheaper (Guzzi content) version:

The problem is you can't tell which one is reliable until you've had it for a few years, and by then its reliablity irrelevant because the unit is no longer in production.

I have an AC-Delco Home/Garage Inflator that has lasted 26 years without a problem. But you can't buy one anymore.

I'd shop by weight if I were in the market: more weight = more reliability. For what that's worth!

I had a Craftsman and it sort of worked for a year and then quit.  I tossed it in the trash and got a tank style compressor which I now use for all sorts of tasks, really useful.
