Sat Nav on Breva 1100

Morning All!!

I'm looking to put my sat nav (GPS) on my B11

What way did other people go and what are your thoughts on composite v alloy mounts

I'd suggest using a RAM mount system; for the Breva 1100, one of the easiest ways to mount the base plate is to use one of the plates that attaches to the top of the brake or clutch reservoir (clutch is probably better for a GPS).

You could also use a base that attaches to the top of the triple tree.

What model GPS are you going to use? And what do you plan to do for power?

My bike's an '07 Norge so if they're different in the handlebar setup then there's no point reading any further. Now, if you're still there, I can tell you that I fitted a Touratech mount for my Tom Tom Rider and have used it in Europe and extensively throughout Australia with no issues at all. You may not be interested but if you are you can have a look at Huzo's Mods, and there's a shot of it there, I'll re bump the thread.

Breva 1100 bars are the same and I'd though of doing something similar but not having access to a mill etc. thought it would look bit of a "dogs breakfast" when Sat Nav is not mounted

Its a "vintage" TomTom V1:cool: the thought being that if someone walks off with 40 quid's of second hand sat nav or it drowns I'm not going to stress over it 
I'd looked at the clutch/brake reservoir mounts but felt that they cluttered up the bars too much

I'd got as far as one of these balls and an extension to position the sat nav somewhere close to where Huzo has his



Power is a waterproof USB socket which I also need to mount somewhere connected to my auxiliary power ignition controlled relay...... which sounds better than it is!

Yeah ok that looks like a damn cool setup actually. FWIW, the security thing is not an issue, 'cos the Touratech locks, you'd destroy the Tom Tom getting it out, but then again that wouldn't stop some people I guess. The look of the Touratech is a little bit utility as in BMW GS but it does isolate vibes very well and I use it a lot.
