Thank you, I went there and read it.
Absolutely no help whatsoever.  To begin with I use a Mac air.  It uses a trac pad and does not have any
left click right click capability.  Secondly, I have used bikepics.com for about ten years and none of my photos there show a number or address under them to use as those directions say.  Until some months ago I used to
select a photo at bike pics and press control while clicking.  Then I come here and do this,
    .
This would post a photo on this forum, it did so for years until recently.  And that does not explain the loss of my avatar either.
Does this site refuse to accept photos from bikepics.com?  It also refuses any photos I try to post from my own computer files.

your track pad has a right click if you tap the lower right corner of the track pad.

Nothing has changed here.  Still have to imbed with HTML code tags.

It sounds like your image hosting service has changed.

something has changed, see the stickies at top, Luap has a new link that you can upload from your computer and it will host them off site somewhere. see "Add image to post" under the message field.

seems like it crops the pics tho from rectangle to square.
you can still use the embed method.

My Macbook Air is about 3 yrs old. It doesn't work to click on the bottom right corner to get a right click. I get a right click by holding the "Control" key while I click the track pad. I don't know if the age of the machine or OS makes a difference, but this works well for me.

Your Avatar is at:

That address can not be accessed. The problem is Bikepics.com.

It uses a trac pad and does not have any
left click right click capability.

something has changed,

Luap just added that feature, and Jim is concerned about something going on for the past few months.

He's had other threads about this.  In fact, if you search the forum, you get hits going back to at least 2008 from him, where he's continually having problems adding photos to posts here on Wildguzzi.

Here's a tip for Sasquatch or anyone who might use or consider using photobucket.

First, I like photobucket because it's been there for a decade or more without losing my photos. I worry about sites I never heard of before.

When you look at a photo after double clicking on it in your photobucket page, you'll see a heading off to the right labeled "SHARE THIS PHOTO," and under it you'll see the option "IMG". If you click in the "IMG" field an html string will be copied onto your computer's clipboard.

There are two ways to use that string (and the second one is my tip).

1. You can position your cursor in your draft message, click on the little globe icon 2 or 3 inches above, and then paste the string into your message. This produces both an image and a live link to your photobucket page, where I think anyone can then look around once they have gotten there via the link, so they can see photos you may not have intended to share.

Here's an edited example of what the string looks like when you get it from photobucket (I removed the left square brackets ("[") that make the forum software interpret "[\URL]"  and "[\IMG]" as commands, so the code would be displayed):

URL=http://s127.photobucket.com/user/motocomo/media/IMG_20160426_233210726_1.jpg.html]
IMG]http://i127.photobucket.com/albums/p135/motocomo/IMG_20160426_233210726_1.jpg[/IMG]

2. The second method of using the string repeats all the steps of the first method, but then removes everything from the pasted string except the contents enclosed by the innermost pair of IMG and /IMG delimiters. (To do this, just edit the string after you've pasted it.) Here is what is left from the previous string after doing that (and after trimming the left bracket from the "IMG" delimiter again):

IMG]http://i127.photobucket.com/albums/p135/motocomo/IMG_20160426_233210726_1.jpg[/IMG]

Doing it this second way removes the live link to your photobucket album from the picture, just leaving an inert image.

Here, I'll demonstrate by posting using both methods. The first photo should have a live link that anyone can follow to my album, while the second one should be dead. (If anyone finds the first link does not let them into my album, I'd be interested in hearing this.)

1. Live link:

2. Dead photo:

Things are similar when using a phone to do this, but I'll skip the details.

Amen to that. I confess I wrote that last post in part to clear up the method for myself.

I tried to show him how to use the "image brackets" but I couldn't get the image brackets to show in my response.

The irony is absolutely palpable!  :thewife:

OR...if it's something for sale, describe it interestingly enough & anyone interested can pm you. Then e-mail them the pics. Worked for me often enough. Keeps things simple. That's why I ride an R65, Ural, Centauro, & a H-D Switchback.

Old way (using image bucket)

OK, so it appears that if you use the attach image button and select an image from your files you end up with an executable thumbnail in the message, rather than the whole image. I will experiment more.

I'm now normally using Edge as my browser after recently switching to a new desktop.
Find smileys and the reply function buttons don't work.
Also I'm no longer able to find photos' URL in Flickr.
I switch to Explorer, and everything is back to normal.

Probably a setting I haven't got right in Edge? Suggestions welcomed!

It is Edge.
I like Edge, it is faster and 'cleaner' than old IE, but it still has a few bugs like that.
