Got a big silver/black Maine Coon sitting by me as I type. Not quite as big, but I don't pick him up unless I have to. The other two cats in the household aren't much smaller, but only the 20-year-old one is a bit fat. He'd be fatter, but the younger ones chase him around during the one hour a day he isn't sleeping or eating.

Maine Coons are great hunters. I had one that got a roof rat once. The rats tail at it's base was thicker than my thumb. The body of the rat was over 10" long and the cat tore a 3" gash in it's side. I once came home to hear a noise in the bathroom. Went in to find the cat watching a live dove sitting in the tub with feathers all around. I watched one time a bird on our bird feeder hanging from the porch roof beam. The cat jumped up, put one paw on the feeder rail and then scooped the bird into it's mouth with the other and both fell to the porch. The cat had the bird by the top of it's head in it's mouth. I ran out and tried to open the cats jaws with my fingers. I was successful with the cat growling at me the entire time. The bird flew away and I had to move the feeder.
Unfortunately Maine Coons have been hit with a heart defect lately. We lost one in January 2015 at 3-1/2 years old. He was only about 12lbs and I think only 1/2 Coon. He was a really great cat.

Here is Cheddar with a mouse he caught that's not dead
And here chillin with the dogs... he would go with us on walks with the dogs.
I one time heard a water-like noise coming from the bathroom and looked over to see him sitting on the toilet seat peeing into the bowl.

That's one huge kitty!! He's about twice as large as my big dog, and almost eight times the weight of my little ankle shredder.

passive aggressive cats. the dogs seem to catch the worst of it. Hilarious, gets better as you go.

I met a guy w/a Maine Coon cat on a leash. His was at least as big as a mid size dog. He had to keep it on a leash so no one would steal it from him. I caught him walking it on a sidewalk like you would a dog.
