Riding a KLX250S, then the V7
« on: May 11, 2016, 11:28:50 AM »
I recently swapped an old '86 KLR250 for a new '14KLX250S. I've been riding the new bike for a few days, both on and off road, really enjoying it. It's a great tool for the job it needs to do.

Today, hopped back on the V7 after a two week lull and DAMN, I LOVE THIS THING! I will never sell it. Riding the thumper was fun and really made me appreciate the refinement of the V7 and all it has to offer.

Nothing like restoring your original feelings like substitution and withdrawal.

I've always found that rotation as with denial has always amplified my appreciation.

I have a soft spot for the under-appreciated KLRs having flogged the hell outa mine (or, the Gubmnet's) in the Army - I can only imagine how much more fun the KLX is.

Restating my original post. After riding the KLX numerous days in a row this week, I hopped back on the V7 today. What an amazing ride, so precision. I absolutely love my Moto Guzzi.

Yup, it also works both ways. Took the Hawk out for a first good ride and took all the Twisties and turn backs I could find. Next day out on the Norge it felt like a Cadillac , smooth, powerful and I remember the satisfaction it brings.

A few days later, took the Norge out and rode many if the same roads I took the Hawk on. All I could think of was I wished I was riding the Hawk.

Two very different bikes for two very different purposes. I like them both and neither detracts from the other.

Motorcycles, gotta like them all. It isn't what you ride, it's what you do with it.

Yep, even a moped can be a hoot.  It is way more fun to ride a slow bike fast than to ride a fast bike slow.  I have always thought that If I had a 'busa it would either drive me crazy not being able to use it or I would be in jail.  Even my Norge goes way faster than I do..  ;)

Great moped comment. Anything with two wheels is great fun. I believe it's leaning into the turns that is gratifying.
