First year for shaft drive?

Well...he says one of the first years, I'll cut him some slack. This bike is no more than 8 miles from me. I saw Mark Etheredge (sp?) do a conversion like this back in '92, only he made it really clean by removing the clutch lever, and maybe even the front brake lever. How much fun would it be to blast around town of an early Sat evening on that thing?
