Agostini Mandello Functional Overview and Durability Report

Hello All-

Here is Moto Mouth Moshe Episode #3, which is a functional overview and durability report on the ‪#‎Agostini‬ ‪#‎Mandello‬ slip-on exhaust for ‪#‎Moto‬-Guzzi motorcycles. These pipes were initially tested for Motorcycle Consumer News magazine's February 2014 issue.

Now, 2.5 years later, I can report on their real-world durability, functionality, and value as proven on my lovely 2013 V7 Racer test rig. I hope you enjoy the video, and I value your feedback!

Yesterday I was up Grouse Mountain showing some visitors around
There in the parking lot was a V7 racer with those exact same mufflers.
I lurked around until the owner came back, said he bought it off the floor in Calgary with pipes already on.

I heard the bike start up and ride away, awesome.
Not over loud, it sounded like a large V twin, not a smallblock.

I've got one for the Griso that sounds remarkable but I'll be putting it up for sale if anyone wants.  I just like the look of the stock can better.  I'm superficial like that.

Actually, I got hit up by owners who bought these pipes based on my old MCN review from 2014. Some of them got reflashed by Guzzitech, which I never did. They report tremendous running improvements. So I've contacted Guzzitech about this. If anyone has feedback on the reflash (and maybe that opens up the possibility of intake mods as well) let me know!

Nicely done!  Will likely be my next upgrade on the Special.  One question though, the final shot when you're riding down the road, baffles in or out?

Nice sound and a nice looking machine.

Those pipes on the Roamer would look the business, too much chrome on the stockers for me.

I've had the baffles out since the beginning, after about 5 miles with them in. I do not like loud pipes or obnoxious noise, but to my ears the baffles-out Agostinis are "just right" for a bike like the V7R. Absolutely perfect for the character of this bike. Even with the baffles out, it's not that bad at all in terms of volume. It is VERY hard to capture this with a camera and mic, but in "real life" the effect of the pipes is one of heavy, deep bass. It's not loud per se, but it shakes your stomach to stand next to it idling. It's fantastic!

I have the Agos on my 1400 Eldo. I removed the baffles for less than one day. They were REALLY loud. So loud I felt I needed the DB killers in. I'm quite satisfied with them. One of these days, I'll play with my SPL meter and get some readings, stock, vs. Agos both with and without the DB killers. 

And yes, I agree that they do wonders for the sound of the small block. They sound fantastic!

I'm curious as to the actual db rating and may take a calibrated sound meter to them. I'm doing that for an upcoming BMW test, because BMW folks REALLY don't care for added volume. I may use that tool here and update this video. I imagine the big Eldo motor would make an even deeper sound!
