1948 GMC Silver side bus value

here's a perfect question for our diverse group.
my father in law died in 97 leaving behind a 48 GMC silver side bus he had converted to a camper behind. he was a diesel mechanic and I know he rebuilt the engine in the 80's and they had only put about 5-10000 miles on it before he settled down in Fl. and got cancer. his wife has let it sit in the yard in Florida all these years renting it to desperate people from time to time. it is time at 91 to sell the house and acreage so the bus needs a home. I think the body is stainless and I am sure there are a lot of valuable parts for the right guy.
any thoughts on what to do with this treasure (Albatross)?

Wow...Well, first you need to start a forum for guys that collect and drive those things.
No, seriously, I understand your problem. Too nice to scrap and too esoteric to find a good home for it. Don't let my mom know about it, she'd make it into an above ground swimming pool or something.

That's the combustion chamber of the turbo shaft. It is supposed to be on fire. You just don't usually see it but the case and fairing fell off.

If the suspension is in good shape and the Detroit Diesel runs properly that old bus is worth a few bucks to the right person...And it looks like a Greyhound spec bus....
