July SE Virginia Breakfast Meet
« on: June 30, 2016, 03:50:13 PM »
Folks

As usual this time of year, Bunny's (Our usual restaurant) is closed for the 4th of July. Have to relocate our breakfast for the month.

So, we'll have this month's breakfast at the Va. Diner on Rt. 460 in Wakefield Va. It's about 20 miles north of our usual location. Not too long a ride. See y'all at the Va. Diner Sunday morning 2 July at 0900. They have a really good buffet there on weekend mornings!

Just to let you know that we're paying attention, is the breakfast on 2 July or on Sunday morning?   Sort of mutually exclusive this year.

The Virginia Diner is my favorite all-time restaurant, partly because of 50 years of memories, partly due to fried chicken, Smithfield ham, spoonbread, and peanut Waldorf salad ....

Thank you Lannis, I messed that up. I meant tomorrow the 3rd of July. 0900

Its always the first Sunday each month.

The Va. Diner is a treat. Hope to see some folks there tomorrow morning!

My favorite lunch there is the two ham bisquick platter. The shaved Smithfield ham is delicious. Comes with the peanut Waldorf salad and a piece of warm peanut pie ala mode for desert!

We had some incredible "frog drowning" weather this morning. Made for a really interesting hour on the road to get there. Donna came with me so we took my van. I'm glad she came as that was  the only company I got this morning. Sorry that no one else made it. You missed a really great breakfast buffet. Next month we'll be back at Bunny's in Suffolk. Hope to see some of you then!

It's good that you're hosting the breakfasts even though you were the only one.   My house is full of family for the 4th so no way for me to come, but thanks!
