Old dudes old bikes and old places!

Wolley creek school est. 1900 amazes me education was available in Stone County, Missouri that early, sure couldn't tell now

Got in about 180 miles of these two old LeMans' singing together. Tim is one of the only riders I know that I'll trust Laying into a corner together WFO with the confidence that he won't let off the gas. Fun day!

Probably a lot earlier than that. As the west was settled, the farmers and ranchers might be living in sod huts, but one of the first buildings in any community was usually the school. It usually did extra duty as the church, the grange hall, the court (when the circuit judge came around), and city hall. A community was fully established with four buildings - a store (which was also the post office and stagecoach stop), a jail, a school, and a bar/saloon/restaurant/hotel; the blacksmith/stable was optional. Add a couple dozen yards of wooden slat 'sidewalk' and you were a full-fledged town!

In most communities, the school was the first brick/stone building as well.

Gee, thanks for the history lesson. Yes there were settlers here in the ozarks before 1900. I'm no stranger to the history in this region. That was an attempt at humor. If you have ever been to Stone Co. You might get it.

I was just reading about the place on the interneck. It was originally wood but a couple of local brothers "stoned it"

Looks like they have a bluegrass festival in the fall, I'm sure I'll be there!
