Griso dry clutch rattle vs Breva dry clutch rattle

Can somebody tell me why the Griso's clutch rattles with the clutch lever out vs why the Breva's clutch rattles with the clutch lever in?

Which Griso? The 1100 uses the same clutch as the Breva and it will rattle when the lever is pulled in. The 1200 uses a different clutch which, if the bike is tuned correctly, is virtually silent. If the throttle bodies are out of whack though the gearbox will 'Knock' when the lever is released.

Over time the catylitic mufflers  will rattle some times when the bike is running too.

Funny, my B750 goes quiet when I pull the lever in.

I've wondered the same thing. My B11 rattles like a bucket of bolts w the clutch in. Stelvio...not at all.

It was the 1200, and it was definitely the clutch making the noise because it'd stop making it with the lever in. Reminded me of a ducati in the way that it rattled just sitting there. It's not noticeable like the breva which sounds like a bunch of clutch disks being put thru the washing machine... The bike did have about 7000 miles on it though.

Yes, it stops making the noise when you pull the lever in because the input shaft to the gearbox stops rotating. The 270/450 firing intervals mean that input shaft speed will be uneven, if the TB's are out of whack the problem is exacerbated. It's not the clutch.
