Santa Rosa, 4 corners, Taos, Cripple Creek on the '14 V7
« on: September 19, 2016, 07:57:41 AM »
Well, I wrapped up a job near Plano, TX and was planning to head home. I had my van and my V7 and last minute decided to head west. Tried something new for me. I left early and got to Santa Rosa, NM early afternoon and hit some roads for the afternoon. Then the next day, left early and headed to Farmington, NM. Parked at the hotel mid morning and hit the road, to Arizona, Utah and Colorado. Skipped the actual 4 corners, did that before. Next day, same thing to Taos, forest roads and 570 to 567, fun climb up canyon. Then next morning, Canon City, then my shortest ride but took hours because hard to make time on Phantom Canyon road to Victor/Cripple Creek then Red River Canyon road back to Canon City. One thing about dirt roads, you don't spend any time waving to cruisers! I have a GoPro but didn't have it with so the vids are all hand held.
Next day was to Dodge City for the Cannonball but that will be a separate post.

Great pics, looks like you had amazing weather.  You did a lovely job on the V7, to me as a tool it seems like an updated Breva, which I think you still own.  Would be interested to know your thoughts on the differences.  Best Ian

wow...great pics, John.  Nice idea with the van, too - giving me some things to ponder on, lol.  Weren't you on a T3 before that you rode across all of hell-and-highwater?  thanks

I was on that road N of Canon City on the way too Cripple Creek.

My '91 Isuzu Trooper had a flat.  Then it fell of the jack.

Strangely, within minutes, a fellow showed up in an old pick up, pulled out a floor jack, got the tire changed, and was gone in about as long as took me to write this.

I can't recall that he said a word.    :blank:
