First ride 2013 V7 Classic
« on: October 11, 2016, 07:53:58 PM »
Met up with dad for lunch then hit the road.

Can't get over how pretty this bike is. Fitted a cheap, universal windscreen just so I had something for a windbreak.
Decided we were going to go to the Airpower Museum in Blakesburg, IA. Good distance to get acquainted with the bike.

I like this little white one. Took 11 years for some guy to build. Powered by a BMW airhead.

Anyway about the bike. It is completely stock except the Hepco bags. The seat is pretty good. After 200 miles I have no issues with the seat at all. The bike has plenty power. Can't image ever thinking I would need more power, and I've had a much faster bike.  Still getting used to the lean forward riding style, not sure if I will change the bars or just see if I can adjust myself. Have to get used to the light throttle response and the very quick brakes. Stock exhaust is quiet, I like and will keep. One unusual thing I noticed is the front brake makes a buzzing noise when applied. It goes with the speed of the wheel and completely goes away somewhere around 15mph and lower. Wonder if that is from the holes in the disc maybe? Any thoughts?
Anyways I'm still in love.

Nice bike!  For the record, it's a V7 "Special".  "Classic" ended in 2012.  Not sure what forward lean you're talking about, my 2014 (same bike) is standard and upright.

You are correct on the special. As far as leaning forward, I'm 5'6". I lean forward. The only way I can sit upright is to sit on the tank.

My Cali makes the same noise, sounds like bees buzzing. It's the holes in the rotor I was told.

Nice pics.
