I had it done a few years ago in the winter so I can't give you an exact amount of time for it to heal well enough to ride.  It's not a problem for very long and I would expect that you will be riding again within a month.  The only thing is that your palm will forever lose some of its' padding and you'll feel it when you lean on it or say pound something in place with your hand.  But you get used to it.

I had a good bit of pain and weak grip 1 week after bandages came off with no improvement in sight. So, decided, on my own, to do a little rehab. Very light curls, like 2 pounds. Felt much better in only a few days, back riding 3 wks after surgery. All this assumes yours was scoped, open takes much longer. Ask your doc if you can exercise it a little.

6-8 weeks...you can help speed up the process by squeezing a tennis ball or similar a few times a day...with your surgeon's approval, of course...

Had both of mine done two weeks apart back in the 90's.  Each hand was back to full duty in 4 weeks. No troubles at all. I had a great surgeon for those!
yeah, I might be addicted to brake fluid. But I can stop any time I want.

I had my right hand done and the Dr said I could resume normal activities in 48 hours.  I said good (it was Friday) because I was to go dirt biking on Sunday.  When he winced I told him if it started to bleed I would quit and he agreed.  It was fine.

Thanks for the info.  My guy only "cuts", higher success rate they claim.  Just keep making fists and wait for nature to do it's thing.    :thumb:

What do you mean "only cuts"?  I'm about to go thru the same ordeal. Gonna see the surgeon on the 23rd.

Hi Lumpy,  missed seeing you at the WI Rally.   Two ways to get inside.  "Scoped" using two holes to get inside with a camera in one, tool in the other or "cut" using a incision to see inside.

I had both sides done February several years ago.  Scope method, so minimally invasive.  Pulled my bandages off next day to do an emergency surgery on a critically ill dog with life-threatening abdominal hemorrhage.  But didn't ride for a few months due to weather. I also would say one hand took a good bit longer for total relief of symptoms (numbness, etc) than the other.
