While I can appreciate the concept, design, engineering, etc., the price of this bike is just plain outrageous and silly!(IMHO)

I try to look past the appearance for the function but the price is outrageous.  I get the Lotus connection but "to each his own".

Dunno , the designers were attempting to evoke 1960's Lotus F1 cars . Maybe not successfully , but at least it isn't a bobber/chopper/brat/Ness/fake Indian/Wizzer/etc. Now , is it worth more than a Vincent ? Probably not , yes "silly" is an appropriate word here in re to its pre-auction estimate . Someone track this , be interesting to see what it sells for .

The colors are my favorite combo , so possibly that blinds me a bit

Uhhhhhh.....carbon fiber & titanium.  Yeah....but how does it ride?  I think Mark is correct.  Just to have something exclusive even if it's ugly.

Bosozoku - Japanese hooligan biker.  Trending less in Japan.  Easy for the PD to enforce laws against them.  Different laws there.  They can stop "just because".    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/B%C5%8Ds%C5%8Dzoku

That's a bargain compared to a Morbidelli V8!

I'm thinking about buying this one and displaying it next to the Morbo ....

My Griso has M4 calipers off an RC8R, just like that Lotus. Ergo, they are nearly identical. Except mine look better.

When I see an abbreviated rear deck and seat like that, I'm reminded of the time I was tooling along maybe 50 mph. The  bungee chord slipped, and my denier nylon gym bag fell down and got caught between the tire and frame.  It got squeezed very rapidly, and burst open like a very loud balloon. Most of the contents flew out onto the street. The remaining stuff melted. It took about 2 seconds. Bike came to a screeching slide.

Now hit another bump and put your boys in there......   This bike is NOT old goat approved.

So it's a basically a KTM RC8 that doesn't perform as well, doesn't look as nice (not that I find the KTM all that attractive), and costs exponentially more...

I suspect Colin would not approve just cause it has an 'old school' twin shock rear end.  Colin would have come up with something like a telelever and made it work better.

If it were really a Lotus it would be really cool.  But, it's just an art piece that they paid to put the Lotus emblem on.

Design?  For an art piece it's ok.  Looks like the designer didn't know what to do with the tail so he just didn't put one on there.  So, no, not for me  :)
