The service manual I have does not show a value specifically for that locknut, but the answer is 'very little'. Torque values for other parts of similar size are in the range of 8 Nm (less than 6 ft-lbs, or under 72 inch-lbs). Expansion under heat will tighten the grip as well, so a bit of delicacy is advised.

That is a tough one to torque, as you have to hold the center screw motionless while tightening the lock nut.  I don't know of any special tools available to allow you to do that with a torque wrench.  If you wanted to torque it you would have to set the clearance, torque, check clearance then rinse and repeat until you had the right clearance after torquing.

I do 6ftlbs , reset until correct.

I have the same Craftsman closed end wrenches I have had since the late 70's.  They are around 3 inches long. I snug the nuts up with ONLY those wrenches.   The idea of using a two foot torque wrench on those little tiny nuts just goes against anything I consider sensible.  Tiny nuts, tiny tool and finger tight.

I suppose you could tie a string to your 3 inch wrench run the string to a pulley and hang a 24 pound weight on the end of the string to give you 6 ft-lbs..

Waltr has it right. 6 ft-lbs is about what you get using this method.
