My '06 Breva has had this problem. I've installed the
simple and well documented fix as recommended by this website
, regularly cleaned and tightened electrical leads and earths, pulled the starter motor, stripped and cleaned it, all to no apparent solution.
Eventually, I found that the lead to the starter solenoid tab was very loose and flopped around. Snipped it off and made a new one. No problem for 12 months.
Then I started getting a "choonk" from the starter and no start. I wired in a bypass starter button under the seat which I've used twice - bike goes "choonk" after the dash boots up, so I remove the seat and hit the bypass button. Bike starts. Plenty of electrickery. Once I got the triangle of death on the screen - ignored it and it wasn't there when I restarted the bike normally after it warmed up.
I've just wired in another earth from the starter motor bolt to the battery. Jury is still out on this.
Anyway, I love the bike and I've learned a lot!
