...returning alloy timing ...

I'll give the translation a go...
Irony doesn't work on the Internet, so my take is that he is (contrary to what is written) NOT returning the alloy timing gears to Agostini for the good reason that they have been long installed in the Guzzi and have given good reliable service for many years.

Oops Deke , thought that was obvious . The comment re Stelvios probably tells us something about Martin's dislike of modern Guzzis

FFS Martin let it go.

In Italy, picked up mk 4 lm, Tony from aus and frenchman Phillipe on cali metal, superb roads,, all is well.
Don't dislike modern Guzzis at all, yesterdays were rattley because (I think) cams had gone west, but they told me not possible as they'd read on internet that with correct oil and proper servicing 8v guzzis are forever engines, they're meant to sound like cement mixers apparently !
I hope they make the dello but doubt it. Wonder if roller kits will be available fitted free on weekend ? be a very good promo gesture
My ones using some oil but I forgive it, been giving it some welly.
Oh the food round here's pretty good too, hotels not bad either.

The gears have been returned before, my brother took em back 20 odd years ago but first time I've took his bike home.
Edit
My brother took em back twice, bike also came with me once, lent to friend.
Fourth time they've been returned, these gears. All  for anniversary do's.

FFS Pete, have a giraffe, internets full of weird and wonderful myths, a little truth can't hurt now and then, if it upsets you don't look, ignore button might work for you

Back in Blighty, mission accomplished, another just over 2k miles of gear happiness
Awesome trip, met some good Guzzisti--Brindisi again next time
Only slight hiccup, last hour or so in France was torrential, warning was tornado, felt like it, you know the kind of rain when GS riders hide under bridges cos their bmw outfits are made of sponge, yep, they did, would of took pic but camera would've drowned !

I'll say it again
Anyone with a any AGOSTINI alloy straight gears unwanted I'll buy them,
Last set I swapped a pair of Rooskin gloves, Espresso's on my website
Offer for same still stands or a good deal on a WON-Z suit
