New ThruxtonR with farkles
« on: September 21, 2016, 12:16:40 AM »
Another old goat bought a play racer he cannot ride. He added all the factory mods then decided "Not for me." Must be nice to have disposable income.     http://www.ebay.com/itm/Triumph-Thruxton-R-/162210211722?forcerrptr=true&hash=item25c47b678a:g:gukAAOSw8w1X4WBi&item=162210211722

Makes me wonder why he installed the "low handle bar kit" since he's getting rid of it due to carpal tunnel syndrome?  and only put 130 miles on it?

I learned my ergonomic lessons with a LMIII and a track bike Ducati 750GT. They don't fit  me.  At least they didn't teach me an economic lesson....

...at the end of the day, one has to be COMFORTABLE (aka "not in pain")  to ride and enjoy ANY bike properly!  :thumb:   :1:

I remember riding 900+ miles on my stock '83 850 LM-III...and I came back from that trip and changed those dreadful, "torture-on-the-wrists" clip-ons to low Super Bike bars, and that, and the "Stucchi-Luigi Comfort Seat" made a tremendous difference on long trips! (See photo).

Hummm, MSRP $13.8 and he has a buy it now price of $12.5.  The farkles don't usually add much to the value of a used bike so I wish him luck selling unless he is willing to take a substantial haircut.

I never noticed that the red suspenders are a perfect "M" for Moto Guzzi.

I forwarded your comment to my brother, who, bless his heart, responded with

" I just cannot help all the bikes that need good homes. When they come up with " Your $11 a month can help feed one hungry bike " then maybe I can do something.."

That's the combustion chamber of the turbo shaft. It is supposed to be on fire. You just don't usually see it but the case and fairing fell off.

He should go find a surgeon.  I did last month and my right hand is cured!
