As you all know, my Breva 750 is somewhat overloaded, and mostly has 2 up.
I got about 7000 miles out of either the Pirelli Sport Demon or the Metzler Lazertech 's
Then as said I had no option but to accept a Metzler Tourance, while in Canada , their washed out roads & repairs, really ate up the Michelin Pilot active 2. OK it was the second tour for that rear, but I had expected it to last the trip
The Metzler Tourance made the Guzzi look a bit like a van van, but, it was fine, for our overloaded touring.
No problems, wet or dry, and it lasted 9 989 miles.
Then, in May of 2014 Larry was unable to source the PR 2's So I ended up with an Avon Road Rider.
It lasted 11 871 miles.
Today, Saturday, Todd at Guzzi Tech, Batavia Rd Orange County, very kindly , fixed a blown exhaust gasket, and replaced the rear tyre, with a Bridgestone Battlax BT 45. Neither operation was expected.
A few days after the service at Harrisons Eurosports, Sandy Utah, one of the exhaust gaskets went.
Typical. why couldn't it have gone, as I arrived ?
Even with my bad hearing, it sounded more like a Harley, and on slowing down it would pop.
Oh as a bit of Info, Harrisons Euro Sports , Closed its Guzzi Department, about a week before I got there.
As regards the Avon Road Rider, well once we got the bike up on the lift, it was evident that it was time to replace it.
Todd had a selection of 3, one was a sort of offroad , and one was so wide, he would have to remove the final drive to get the wheel in place, so I took the standard Battlax BT 45. it is without a doubt, the smallest rear tyre that has ever been on the Breva .
Current Milage is now : 71 815. All bar 10, have been ridden in the US & Canada.
Todd was great, he dropped his planned jobs, & fixed both problems , there & then.
Thanks Todd !
