Just got her started today after a big rebuild.
Before
After
I just want to thank Greg Bender for his friendly and expert help and encouragement and of course his great wiring loom.
Also Chuck in Indiana , George Dockray, Mike Tiberius, Charlie Mullendore , Doug Ritchie, Pete Roper who inspected the major engine bits and had the heads renovated for me, and some I've forgotten for all their help along the way.
When she finally burst into life tonight the sound was glorious. Kinda like two Norton singles burbling together in harmony.
Might still be a day or two till I actually take her for a spin as other fettling is still required but in effect the job is right.
Cheers,
Dan

Thanks you guys.
Still a day or two till she hits the road. I've been tightening what wasn't. amazing what you forgot when you go round carefully, after piecing stuff back over a time period.
Still getting the timing quite right and definitely need new points as the bakellite thingo that goes on the cam is somewhat diminished.
Not sure of the running in requirements with my specific rebuild. I kept the original mains , replaced the big ends onto standard journals,
got the bores honed and fitted new rings with the old pistons. New valves and K-lined guides. Seems to run like a top so with no smoke or anything maybe no run in is needed. It's not the bike to thrash anyway, just to go for a nice ride. Can't wait.
