Flying Fortress landed in Houston
« on: October 02, 2016, 09:53:38 PM »
I sat on th Flying Fortress Friday at Houston Superbikes and was impressed by the design and looks. Looking at it up close makes the bike look much better. I thought it was ugly in the pictures but if I was looking for a bagger this is it. Nothing like it in my opinion but I still want a Griso.

I had much the same reaction to the pics and then saw and heard Luap's in person...and came away very impressed even though not my style of bike...potential buyers shouldn't dismiss it from photos alone...

It has one feature that I just can't get over...

The price tag.

I just don't see where the extra $4-7000 of value is in the bike over its siblings.

From the looks of that photo, Flying fortress is a good name.

It's a style thing.  I did not like the look of the Audace until I saw one in the shop at MPH with black valve covers instead of silver.  It was a looker.

I can't get past the popsicles sticking out the sides.  Sorry.  I know it's a style, but it looks like there's shriners hiding in there.

I passed one on the road a couple of weekends ago (9/25 near Brevard, NC).  You can really see the redheads coming at you.

I'd drink a beer with anyone who pulls up on one.  :boozing:

Is it possible to remove that rim disc on the front or is it cast into the wheel. If it can be removed, has anybody seen a pic without it?

The carbon disk is bolted on.  Expect the wheel casting to be ugly behind the cover, since it's not meant to be seen.
