I ride these roads 2-3 times a year. You get bonus points for using that bike for the switchbacks on the Burr Trail. Well done! Beautiful country to ride in.

Beautiful...Potash, Shafer Switchbacks, White Rim Trail are some of my favorites in Moab...never did it on a Moto, but many times in the Land Rover.  Nice to see you take the Guzzi here.  Did you make it up Long Canyon and Pucker Pass as well - great leaning massive boulder there covering the trail...

Now if you end up doing the Hole in the Rock (the trail, not the road) and make it all the way to the end...we'll be really impressed! 

The White Rim trail is an unforgettable 90 mile off-road trek...with camping sites every 10 miles...beautiful scenery...like riding thru a Clint Eastwood western...not to be missed!

I've been wanting to do Hole in the Rock for a long time.  About 60-miles unpaved to the end.  Would probably want to camp down there, or it would be a looong day down and back.

Indeed!!  It's an amazing trip to do over several days, lots and lots of technical sections to navigate, you would really need an ADV bike to do it properly...and many sections are quite steep with wonderful adrenalin filled drop offs!  Camping at Dead Horse Point is fantastic...even hiking some of the spots around there is epic...

But what caught me as odd was the mention of 80MPH seemed like the limit for the 750 as going over that seemed to stress the bike too much?

Yes, Southeastern Utah is fantastic.  A person could spend weeks there with a Stelvio-type bike, or a Jeep...

There are in fact 2 Holes in the Rocks...one is the Trail and one is the Road.  There is an easy road section and then there is a hard core 4x4 trail as well to navigate which eventually takes you down to the Chute...very fun and challenging.  To put in perspective, with a group of 8 Land Rovers, we advanced about 10 miles each day, lots of technical sections...we made it about 2/3 of the way in, then a few of us stayed at DeadHorse Point, and others continued all the way into the chute.  A few of the folks have tried it and were snowed in, had to turn around on other attempts.  The beauty out there is staggering.

My friends can't believe that I left all that and more for cold, old Germany!

And I know how it is to backtrack some roads. On the trip to the Grass Valley national I had to go through Yosemite twice! Oh, the horror
