USB SUPPORT KIT, Part No: 2S000166

I have just received the MG USB Support kit 2S000166 for my Eldo. The instruction sheet with the USB kit is for the V7 but the part number is common for a number of models including the Eldo, as per the MG Accessories page.  If anyone has installed this on an Eldo (or the Cali assuming they are have common wiring) can you please advise where to find the connector on the bike?

I have attached a photo of the kit and the area under the seat. There are 2 connectors which one is for the USB? Also there seems to be no place for the holder bracket to be installed as it is on the V7

Uncharted territory. I have not heard of anybody putting one on a Cali. (Doesn't mean they haven't.) If they have, I have not noticed any reports here.


Side bar to this, my dealer sells a nice little deal with rubber covers that clamps onto the handlebars. There is a 12 volt round plug as well as a 5 volt USB. 20 bucks.

usually but not always the connectors that are open are keyed such that it would be difficult to plug in the wrong one.  If all the kit does is provide a USB plug then it should be easy to test if you find a place to plug in the device on the wiring harness.

I like the factory kit idea, let me know how it works!

Not sure where the plug is offhand but the cable length should be a bit of a giveaway. i'd be guessing it'll be behind the steering head or at least underneath the plastic headset covers. a tank off job anyways.

Hi John, thanks for that..... which plug on the bike do you use for power...is it one of the ones in the photo that I had posted?

This plug is wired directly to the battery. I was able to fish the wire under the tank. It has its own fuse and spade ends already on the wire. I generally like my power plugs accessible and unswitched, meaning always powered. Looking for switched power gets more complicated, but not too bad.
