Dusty, even the cheese is fried down here.  I asked for a salad instead of fries and threw the staff into 'tilt'.  Combine that with my rule to not date wimmins heavier than me and you can see that they're all safe.

I've added MI, TN, MS,  LA, and TX.  I must have forgotten how to do that map.  I colored them in on my laptop screen but they don't show up on the tablet.

Went to Motor Trike and had no problems getting the airbags.  The guy even gave me tips for installing them.  He suggested buying from an auto parts store and gave me the part#.  They're on order from the parts house.  Ken gave me a rolling tour of the area with a lively narrative about the landmarks we passed. I decided to replace both sides and improved rub points on the airbag and fender mounts.  Brake pads come in tomorrow.  The 3 V'L TWIN will be its old self soon.

So, this afternoon, on an unusually warm late fall day, I'm at the light at the corner of Cty Rd. K where it crosses US 12, near where Dolly's used to be. I'm heading up through Ashton Corners and parts west. Barreling through the intersection, and I mean barreling, was a green trike headed towards the Wisconsin River, ridden by a guy with a ponytail, little American flag waving from the rear. Couldn't see any detail on the trike. I thought to myself, "it couldn't be, he was in the swamp 2 days ago" It couldn't be, could it? Or is it a Guzzi version of Phantom 309?

Well he was with Ken. Ken has been known for riding from Texas to Minnesota in one sitting, maybe he caught something from the old Turnip Farmer

Here at the Oleo Ranch there is always something to do.  If we're not tinnkering with the trike or other mechanical vitems around the place we're driving around on scenics and parts runs.  Ken gets up early -- about 4AM and is done for the day about dinnertime.  I tend to get up and stay up later than that, so there is never a line at the bathroom.  :D

I've got the trike back into shape after the airbaag failing, except for realigning the rear wheels.  I deliberately mesed with them while my suspension was compromised, and now that it's right again, the alignment is decidedly wrong.  I also have oil for my overdue oil change, and a RAM mount for my tablet/gps, new atf cooling fan, and a cheap tach coming.  I'm hoping the fan (and installing an engine oil cooler) will solve the overheating problem.  Baton Rouge was my first time in hot stop/go traffic for the trip, so I didn't know what to expect.  It's an area of development, like the rear brakkes, that needs more refinement.  I don't call it a design failure because it was a starting point.  I was already carrying the oil cooler in anticipation of needing to install one.

The atf cooling fan broke its mount -- shattered it, really.  So it was not working during the overheat event, although I think it was spinning after it broke free of the mounts, and it may have contributed to the hole in the airbag, since it was wrapped up in the bage when I went to replace the broken bag.

Sorry for no pics.  I have to get them from the camera to the computer, and there justb hasn't been time.

Still waiting for a map idea to plot the trip on.  Must not be something I have to give up personal informtion to access.  I'm trying to stay off the grid as much as possible.

Design genius is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration. At least that's what was the meaning of Edison's post.  As my friend Ed the Rocket Scientist sez.. "Failures only teach us what didn't work. Nothing bad about that."

Did you have a look at that Moto Where site RK? It's the one I have used for this purpose in the past.  A bit fussy to do. I would mark out the trip and then use a screen shot to convert it to a pic I could post. No more 'on the grid' than visiting any other website.

The other suggestion was one that Daniel kalal (I think) and some others have used. I don't know much about it personally but it involves a cell phone app that tracks you automatically and you can post the map produced. Much less fussy to use I would think once it is set up but much more 'on the grid'.

Of course, and this might be the best of all, you could simply mark it clearly on a paper map and take a photo of it.....  Getting a good photo would be the trick there.

You can do this with Google Maps without creating an ID or sign-in, but it takes a bit of practice to create the waypoints and routing.
