Cheap airline tickets in Europe

I just received an e-mail from Ryanair that they have on sale 1,000,000 tickets for flights within Europe for $11.09. If you plan on traveling in Europe in the next few months it might be worth a look. Ryanair is pretty cheap anyway, as long as you travel light, but this is almost free. They have add-ons, like it is possible that they charge you for wearing mismatched socks, so be aware.

The worst mistake I've ever made was flying on RyanAir.

I would gladly pay extra to not be on one of their planes.

I've had my share of Ryanair flight hours, and I've grown to understand that I would rather look for any other carrier, before booking a ryanair seat. In my opinion Easy Jet makes much better sense.

By the way over the years european broadcasters spread some rumours about RA pilots being pushed to shave every possible gallon of fuel from their fill ups, in order to save costs. This means that they usually have very little margin for detours due to bad weather or adverse conditions. this is from one of best-known Italian newspapers, you can google-tranlsate it:

Unfortunately my next flight is schedule to London Stansted, and only Ryanair does the trip I need 

At least it is very cheap. I've spent 100 € for a return ticket, including 1-day car rental with full insurance cover.

Ryanair is the Greyhound bus service of the sky. Hitchhiking would be better, if possible 😁.

Ryanair runs on time!
I've used Ryanair dozens of times, and in my experience they're hardly ever late.
OTOH, if they have to cancel a flight, you might find yourself in trouble if it's on a stretch they don't fly frequently.
Legroom is fine, but flying longer than two hours is tough as their seats don't recline.

They're Europe's biggest airline, and AFAIK they've never had an accident.

My experience with other airlines that fly out of Scandinavia such as Lufthansa and Scandinavian Airlines is more mixed in terms of cancellations and delays. But, they will usually get you to your destination by the next day at the latest, and they have service desks at the airports. So at times i'm willing to pay more to fly with them than with Ryanair.

As indicated, you can fly around in Europe at ridiculously low prices, if you plan ahead. There are more cheap airlines than Ryanair, also they've forced the regular airlines to lower their prices dramatically.

The seating comes on a first-come basis so the last in the line might have a bad surprise.

In the past few years Ryanair has become famous for its ideas on how to make the trip even more miserable and pack more unfortunate passengers in one plane.

The 2 ideas I can remember are:
"Standing Seats"

and "Airplane without windows" basically cargo planes equipped with seats (standing?)

Fortunately neither project has reached the market so far.

I know that in the past they have installed coin-op toilets on their planes: 1 british pound per pee. I don't know if this system is still in place.

Last Ryanair flight I took (Pisa to London-Stansted) was delayed by 8hrs but, it was cheap.

There's even Guzzi content here because I was returning from a trip to Florence during which I bought my Lemans...

I was stuck at an airport 12 hours after checkin with ryan air before they cancelled the flight only for the plane to take off with a new flight no at vastly increased price.
there are plenty other low cost airlines.
easyjet, norwegian are 2 which are dependable.
BMI Baby was probably my favourite before they folded seems people weren't prepared to pay €10 extra not to be messed about

Last time I was bouncing around inside Europe for some flights, I used Vueling...very reasonable rates, on time service and excellent connections.  From experience with friends living in Europe, they seem to prefer it to Ryanair.  Just anecdotal evidence...nothing statistical.

I recently experienced this with Frontier here at home. I like how the cabin crew tells you to please return your seats (which don't recline) to the upright position before landing. They also call them "pre-reclined" seats. If i can ever help it I'm not flying with them again. Not when Alaskan can provide nearly the same price in much greater comfort and service.

How far would I trust Ryanair?
They're strictly a point-to-point airline. They have some hubs, such as London Stansted, but you have to pick up your luggage and check in again if you have a subsequent flight with them.
I've done that several times on international flights with Ryanair, with only a few hours between scheduled arrival and departure. So far with success.
If the first flight was delayed I would have lost the money I'd paid for the second and have to look for a new flight to get to my final destination.
 (possibly compensation from travel insurance, don't know, but certainly nothing from Ryanair as they regard it as no show and my problem).
