Recently, my sidestand (kickstand) switch failed, stranding me briefly until I tied the two wires together.
But I was flabbergasted at the crude means by which the switch is secured from rotation when the stand is operated, by cable tying the attached cable to the frame! This is something I might expect from a bush mechanic, but not from a factory installation. (Yes, I have owned the bike since new.)
The original part number is #AP8127319 (US$60.89 @ Harpers), apparently superseded by #854889 (US$100.41 @ Harpers). I managed to repair mine, but I'm wondering if anyone that has installed the newer version can advise me if it includes an improved method for holding it in place?
