in all fairness Steve was there for a lot of years. I suspect he was in his late 60's and just wanted to retire. also who in their right mind would buy a old Ducati / Moto Guzzi dealership.

Renmoto's mechanic went to work for the local streetcar company (Sun Link).   Steve then had to decide. And yes he's going to be 70 soon.

Performance Cycles on I-10 near Prince closed about 120 days ago (Kawasaki, KTM and quads). Maybe they closed after selling out to Ride Now Motorsports because Musselmans Honda got an offer from them. They're not biting the hook. If they had, Ride Now would be the only new bikes dealer in town as almost every other family owned business has been bought out.

I almost bought a Suzuki scooter at Ride Now last summer. Just sign a few papers for zero down and zero percent. Thing was, the MSRP's on Suzuki scooters are so high that consumers no longer make out on early pay-off loans. Nowadays upon signing, the manufacturer, lender and dealer get instant returns while the customer is left with a 48-72mo loan agreement that converts to high APR if they run afoul of terms and conditions. Off the showroom floor, these bikes couldn't get half their value on a Craigslist or Ebay sell. Waiting several months for a buyer still obligates the owner to full coverage insurance because it's being financed.

The black MP3 500 had been quoted as $8,000 out-the-door and it's still there. I wanted that bike last spring and then I had $6,500 in dental work .

   I'd LOVE to do something like this when I retire from the Army, but none in the area I am retiring to.... I'd be happy to keep the lights on, make enough to keep the business up to date and employ a few folks.   I HATE to see shops like this go out of business, leaving only the mega stores like "Ride Now"

entirely new topic but these mega dealerships SUCK!!!
a couple of times I tried to buy from Ride now Tucson. the original quoted price jumps by $500-$1500 when the paper work gets filled out. like 500 to check over a used bike. WHAT! I could take it to an authorized dealer and do all the work ever needed for that.
unfortunately most buyers today know nothing and only want to know the monthly payment. Same as with cars.

My '14 v7 Special, bought new at Ridenow Euro in Chandler, Arziona was set up just fine. They knew enough to install the latest ECU map.

I know mega-dealerships tend to lack that "Olde World Charm", but they are not necessarily only staffed by automatons and know-nothings.

For Tucson peeps...Cycles, Skis and ATVs on 22nd street usually has an eclectic mix of used bikes for sale, and quite a bit of gear. They also have a few cool vintage bikes on display on the upper floor.

On Any Moto on W Grant Rd is an authorized Zero dealer, and also has a few used bikes on the floor.
