Some bridge designs have just one detail (with perhaps a design flourish in the center) and then a note saying to “do it just like that for as long as required.”

Look closely at the keystone arches on the French bridge - you can see some have been rebuilt, at different times with different methods!

Fabulous pics as always...beautiful scenery!!  And the famous Millau Viaduct in France as well?

Do you have one of The Bridge over the River Kwai or the "Bridge to Nowhere" as well?

I'm sorry; I thought I posted that photograph of the Oklahoma bridge...

Is the Scotish one at Dundee, across the Forth? It looks very familiar?

Pete.

Very good.  Yes; it is.  And, if some Scottish anarchist group ever decides to blow up those ghastly white flats (that would be at home in eastern Europe) they have my blessing.  What were they thinking?

This was taken standing not far from my Stelvio.  But, on an earlier trip to Dundee, I walked across that bridge.  It's farther than you might think.

I don't know when you were last there and can't remember if the flats were still there, (It was raining really heavily most of the time we were there! Couldn't see much from the North side of the bridge.) but someone in the City Fathers has their head screwed on. A lot of money is going into Dundee, the whole waterfront is being redeveloped, it has a University so the place has lots of young people, (Vital for any city to be vibrant.) and it really has a good vibe. We liked Dundee a lot!

Also, when are you coming back here to visit? I have a Stelvio for you to use now so you wouldn't have to worry about running out of petrol like last time. OK! So it's a turd, but it's a perfectly serviceable turd!

Pete
