It's also Sam Houston's birthday.  You know, the big guy standing beside I-45 at Huntsville.

From what I could tell of Todd's posts, even if he wasn't born in Texas he sure felt Texan.

It is the USA, TX has and had no authority to leave, hence they didn't.

The USA took TX from Mexico, at gun point.  Mexico, in part took TX and the rest at sword point at least.   And so it goes, and so it goes.

Word is that CA, is thinking about leaving too, wonder how that might turn out???

Republic of Texas 1836 - 1845.  I think the Haven boys originated in PA. but got here as quick as they could.  Many of us miss Todd.

Yep, all of the US was taken at gun (sword) point from someone else.  Same as just about everywhere else in the world.

Have we not had the discussion about politics lately , the one about how we don't discuss that topic here ?

I remember in the late 70's living in Austin, TX, there were bumper stickers on every other pick-up that said:  SECEDE - LOL

Is Texas so independent that they even spell independence differently from the rest of the world? Or maybe indepenDANCE is a new dance step from Texas?
