About 7500 miles on mine. Generally 42 to 45. Been as high as 47.5 on I-86 coming across New York.

Same as John. Custom with 14,000 miles stock set up. And those numbers can be expected two up , fully loaded.

Those figures mainly represent cruising speeds 50-70 mph, 5th and 6th gear . I have gotten 50mpg on highway with cc set to 65mph and 6th gear in tourismo mode. Around town  more like mid to high 30 mpg's which I rarely do on mine, not the best machine for that job.

That's really good! I get about 35 MPG on my Norge, commuting 21 miles each way with a mix of fast side streets and slow highways.

I have a Touring and @ 40-50 mph I get about 36-37 mpg. I've gotten as high as 41 mpg. I always ride in tourismo. I've taken a couple of long trips with highway and such and never have gotten more than 41 mpg. Almost everyone that I talk to in person that has these bikes get about the same mileage as me but I'm always amazed at the numbers on the forums.

I am also surprised at the hi mpg numbers.  I wonder if those are numbers from the computer on the bike or mpg based on mileage devided by gallons.  My mpg runs anywhere from 36 to 42 depending on the roads and aggression.  Seldom do I get over 40 unless I am at a high elevation.

The MPG number I report are always using GPS miles and gallons I put into the tank. Actually, the on board puter is a bit pessimistic, reporting less than actual, at least in the case of my bike. Generally, I'll run about 4 to 5 over the posted speed and mind my own business. Just set the cruise and relax.

Those are some LOW speeds that have been posted.

Running 70-80 MPH, what sort of fuel consumption gallon should one expect???

Never use the onboard computer for fuel mileage.  Calculate it out by hand.  Miles travelled since last fill-up divided by gallons filled to the tank.

I've got 18,000 miles on my Custom.  At 70 mph I see 39-42 mpg.  My experience has been that mileage starts dropping dramatically above that.  I've only run a couple of full tanks through at 80-85 mph, but at that speed I saw a consistent 35 mpg.

My 8-V Norge's mpg drops off dramatically in an urban/city setting. Stop and go makes it very thirsty, even with a light throttle hand. Most of my time is spent on open two lanes with some interstate time with common speeds being 65-85mph indicated. Pretty much stays in the 40-45 mpg. Running without the sidebags gains 3-5mpg more. Don't know if the 1400s tend to be the same way.

True. If I can ever get on the "freeway" and actually ride at a steady speed (very hard to do around here!), my Norge will return about 42 to 45 MPG, with panniers and top case. But the Portland area has the second slowest traffic in the nation...

Flying around on the fortress in these  hilly Ozarks, I get an average of 35 MPG. If I get out on the flatlands and set the cruise at around 78 or so, I can achieve 42 MPG.

What altitude and what speeds??  Those are two critical factors in fuel economy... My Norge typically gets 38 to 42 at 500' above sea level and at 75MPH... At 3500' and 131MPH the mileage seems to drop off to about 30 MPG

Had mine up to 140mph indicated on a runway which is at an altitude of 1,581ft. Didn't seem to have time to check my mileage along the way.
