Source for GPS matching plug for the Guzzi harness?
« on: March 14, 2017, 07:44:30 AM »
I'd like to wire a matching socket to my Zumo 550 mount so i can connect to Guzzi's oddball OEM socket. Is there a source for the plug that mates up with the one on the bike?

I know i can cut off the stock plug and just wire with a generic 2-pin connector, and have done this on other bikes, but figured a future owner might appreciate the stock plug being present. Don't want to hard wire it as I'd like to preserve the quick detach function.

I asked this question on the Griso board.  PaulDaytona is pansophical:

I got a Mercedes extension cable, part 230-540-01-66, from Autonation Parts Direct, $23.03 including shipping.

There's also a BMW part, 83300402344, which is the correct plug with wire leads, that sells for about $15.50, plus shipping.

The GPS plug is Tom-Tom brand specific. You might find the other end somewhere, but preserving that doesn't do much, IMHO.

The plug you are talking about is here, correct?

If you are talking about the auxillary power plug I found on my 2012 Norge under the head stock, I found a matching plug at the local BMW shop for $15. But then I talked to a BMW friend of mine and he said that's a common plug found on garden tractors and mowers and most tractor supply shops have them in stock for around $3-4.
