ITI speedo 'joys' (cheap guzzi content)
« on: April 07, 2017, 05:28:14 PM »
ok, speedo on my Calvin is giving me grief for about the 10th time it seems.

Has been working great recently.

I had a chupa chups lollipop stick with a round table-lamp switch on the end of it wedged in to turn the trip meter back to zero after refills. Classy.

This worked beautifully for around 20,000 miles until the lamp switch started to lose traction on the lollipop stick, so duly removed it.

After turning the chupa-chup lolly stick by hand at the last refill now neither the trip meter or the odometer are turning at all.

all i did was turn the trip knob in the correct direction, admittedly via a lollipop stick, but I can't figure out how this could have wrecked the mechanism?

speedo needle is still functioning so at least i know how as fast i'm going. (approximately.)

I have one just like that.  Adds no miles and the OK Highway Patrol says 86 MPH when my speedo was at 92.
