So, yesterday, as I was about 10 miles from home, I got caught in some light rain .

When I got home and parked in the garage and after I took off my riding gear and hung it up to dry, I went back out to the garage and towelled off the bike.

Just a cursory going over, but it made me feel better for having done it. In this environment, things get rusty quickly .

Do you guys do the same, or just let it "drip dry"?

Toweling off the bike get maybe 25 % of the water off of it. When I dry a bike off (which is very rarely) I use a shop-vac that has a clean interior and blow dry the bike. Gets a lot more water out of the nooks and crannies.

My take has been to put the wet bike away in a dry garage when it's HOT, then let the radiating engine heat do most of the drying.  Air under pressure skeeves me out regarding blowing little bits of stuff where I don't want it. A clean soft rag or upscale paper towels for any little pools of water, then Honda Pro Spray polish before the bugs totally dry again and it gets off the caked on bugs better after the bike was just wet.

 :1: on the compressed air. Regulated down to about 20psi and away you go. Then a quick wipe down on all the big stuff with a barely moist micro fiber towel.

I've been using Meguiar's Wash and Wax Anywhere on both the bikes now and I like it for that situation.  I do a quick spray/wipe of the bodywork controls and screen and leave the lower level stuff for later when the bike is cool. 

Just make sure you keep your micro fiber away from anything hot or you'll have something else to clean up!

I blow my bikes off too. Maybe not after a grueling long ride in a toad strangler. But I have used tha air hose or leaf blower

I do the same as you do.  Towel down what I can reasonable do.

This stuff is about $7 a can.  Lasts a long time.  I use it for my bikes and cars.  I'd say 75% of the time I never use a hose on my bikes and use it to keep cars clean between washes.

Think I've figured out why my bikes never get stolen..........I rarely clean them up........but still get complements on their appearance from walkers by.
