VHB30 notch setting
« on: May 18, 2017, 02:12:01 PM »
Is a bike with VHB30s and K&Ns likely to run better with the needle pinned on the top notch or the lower notch? It would seem intuitive that with less restrictive air filters, a lower notch setting (pinned to the lower notch setting on the needle) would give more fuel to match the increase O2 t any given throttle opening. Am i looking at this correctly?
Thanks

As long as that is all you are changing, yes.
Edit: This can be instructive..

It will run better if the carb Intakes are there and screwed in . Most people when installing K&N filters  just attached tve filter to the carb without the throuts attacbed which does not allow flr a snooth transition of fuel and air.
If you have the standard type of filter the opening is to small to fit over the carb intake tube so they have them turned down - just remove the ridge on the intake tube then reinstall go for a ride then make the next desistion

Yeah, thanks TOMB, I have new intake runners (velo stacks) screwed on both sides, using the 2-into-one K&N filter. Its a real tight fit.
