Cali 1400 Valve Adjustment tutorial?

Has anybody posted a step-by-step procedure on the 1400 valve adjustment?  I've done many Guzzis in the past, but not the new Cali, and am wondering if there are any particular new wrinkles in the procedure.

Other than the extra valve cover to remove it's just the same as all the big twins.

None at all really. I've posted up a quick step by step of a 1200 before, it's definitely on the Ghetto but it might be here too?

The only difference with the 1400 is that there are two plugs per side and the extra cosmetic covers over the rocker covers themselves. The adjustment sequence is identical to any other motor, set up the piston at TDC compresh and adjust the lash. (Actually there are a very few exceptions to this rule but none you need to worry about.)

Don't tighten the adjuster locknut more than 6ftlbs. Same procedure as the others, do left first, then the right.

Thanks, all. MI was telling me to be sure to block one of the paired lifters with a feeler gauge as I adjusted the other, then reverse. It kind of made sense, yet I questioned the necessity.

I have absolutely no idea why people suggest this? It achieves nothing!

Why left first?  This is actually about the easiest valve adjust I've ever done.

Simply because it requires less turning of the crank to get to the TDC of the next cylinder. Or at least that's why I do it that way.

When the motor stops it usually does so at a point where the next TDC event is usually the left. If you can be bothered see the firing order thread to work out why.....

Done!  Everything was spot on--  .006 intake, .008 exhaust, as per service manual.

 Needed to use the plug wrench from my KTM 390 Duke tool kit as nothing else I had would reach down the tunnel to fetch those skinny little plugs.  Gotta admit, that would have been a nice addition to the tool kit.  The Cal 1400 has the sparsest tool kit  I think I've had on any Goose.
