  Yes it does look rugged.  Does it run? How far before breakdown? Where is the machine-gun?
I would need a hand shift modification with the clutch on it.

My DR650/Velorex may not look as kewl but it

-Easily goes in 6 or 7 inches of snow
-Easily hauls 6 cases of beer
-Hauls me and the dog to the swimmin' hole

Don't really need anything else

There's a fella around these parts with one of the 2WD Ural hacks. Seems like he beats holy-hell out of it but then he has a lot of replacement parts and mods to address the Urals notorious reputation too.

I asked him once how he dares take it on his rugged trips and he's confident that he's addressed ALL of the manufacturer's many Achilles' heels. Has a trailer hitch on it too. I can't think of too many more squirrelly rigs than a 2WD Ural with a trailer but if you're just toting up and down forest service/ranch roads, it may not much matter.
