Quite a tribute to Nicky at Mugello.  They displayed several of his bikes.  Crowd made big applause.  All the riders had tribute decals and Rossi a special helmet 4-6-9 painted on it.

Exciting quals too.

MA Superbike race was good as the 2 Suzukis had a Yamaha sandwich a lot of the race.  But Beauvier won the race by .005 at the finish line.  Josh Hayes flipped out(highside) on the warm up lap and had a nasty get down.  Says he will be able to ride tomorrow but we'll see.  They only have 1 bike this year and his got banged up/fire pretty good.

In the supersport/supertock 600 race the track was wet so some riders had wet tires while others had dry tires.  The 4 mile track (Road America) was shortened to 7 laps due to a restart and Yamaha R6s w/rain tires finished 1,2.

Yes, but I missed part of it as it started sooner than I expected.

If you mean this whole year then you've been missing good competition.  the new Suzukis (2) are giving fits to the usually dominant R1 Yamahas (2).  Toni Elias & Roger Hayden are no longer also rans.   Elias is a former Moto GP racer and has really raised the stakes in MA Superbike if you want to win.  He's already won 3 races this year and Roger has won 1.  The Yamaha R1s are no longer a dominant bike like in the past.  This whole class is a lot more competitive than it used to be.  :thumb:

good one for the Italian fans.  Riders and bikes.

How about catching air at 220 mph?  lap after lap

Just had the chance to watch after getting back from Council Grove and managing to avoid any spoiler alerts...great win for Dovi which he'll never forget I'm sure and congrats to Danilo for a well-deserved podium...Rossi looked very fatigued, I know he was hurting at the end...must have been some fun parties in Mugello Sunday night! Viva l'Italia!

Yeah, we watched the race Sunday night and that track sure seems like a fast flowing 1.  Musta been quite a night for the Italian fans since they said Dovi was the 1st Italian Moto GP winner @ that Italian track to win on an Italian bike too!!!   It was only Dovi's 3rd race win since he's been in that Moto GP class.
