I had a 2006 Yamaha ..Road liner/Stratoliner... for a while.. 780 lbs ...1800 cc.. huge torque 117 ft lbs /95 hp , very similar/same engine to this new one only a five speed instead of six ,
it was great fun to ride , had huge midrange /power, good brakes and decent suspension, aluminum frame etc and was reliable as the proverbial stone .
build quality was second to none and there are many dedicated riders for this model ..
i had to sell it in the end just couldnt get comfortable on the thing , for me all your torso weight was straight down threw the saddle , legs out on the boards were not for me.
Overall though it was a good bike and if this new one is an improvement and it should be.. then Yamaha did it right .
Good on them ...IMO Yamaha builds great motorcycles and are not afraid to put them out there.
