World's Fastest Indian -- Again?

I might be late to the party on this, but I just stumbled across an article covering an LSR attempt to be made by Indian Motorcycles at Bonneville in August 13, 2017. The bike is a streamliner version of the Indian Scout, highly modified by Polaris/ Indian. It will be ridden by Lee Munro, Bert's great-nephew. The date marks the 50 year anniversary of Bert's original record-setting run. Certainly great PR for the company, whether they set a new record or not.

Is that the same bike that Todd rode on the salt back w/Polaris bought the name? I thought it had the big motor in it.
Found it--https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ss3FpDy3bD4

Burt did it in his shed with no high tech assistance. They can never eclipse his achievement, weather or not his great nephew rides the bike or not. I'm going to dig out that film and watch it again.

I believe the goal is to commemorate and honor his achievement, not eclipse it.
Burt vs Bert? Blame autocorrect. (As in, the autocorrect in my brain was off-duty!)

As I understand it, Herbert George Munro, therefore logically Bert but the man himself preferred Burt. Who really cares, he is still a god among mortals.

I was at El Mirage for my rookie weekend back in May. Lee was there as well on the Indian making his rookie runs. You can see his runs here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CTLmKmWQEkE
Interesting side story. The rules state that rookies cannot get a record, and that rookies are not allowed to go over 150. I knew that I had a real chance of taking a record in my class, and I asked at tech inspection if I would be allowed to get a real full license after my first run on the basis of my AMA Pro Roadracing License. While the guys said no, they said they would put a special sticker on my bike to cause the race director to give me extra scrutiny during my run and possibly get me an exception. As it is, during my first run (and my first ride in anger on the bike in over 23 years and since breaking my left ankle), I couldn't get the bike into 5th and went 115 in 4th (preserved in the down course videos of John Wylie:
https://youtu.be/uJSXb1p7Vo8?t=18m18s
). Because I didn't make 125 (and in no small part due to the fact that the race director, because of the sticker, had to chase me down the track in his car and was pissed off), I didn't qualify for my full license. Fine, I didn't deserve it. As it was I went 129.3 against a 130 record the next day. Lee managed to get whatever special dispensation was necessary to be able to go 161 the 2nd day. Fun fact however, Burt's bike was a 1000, Lee's bike is in the 1350cc class, both however have partial streamlining.
FWIW, I'm running at El MIrage this coming Sunday, July 16th. Come out, I might need a chase truck driver at 7am on Sunday.
