Agreed.  Hamlin did a RaceTech front end for my V7.
Works a treat.

Jim is doing the same for me. Will pick up the new V7 from him on 8/15, ready to roll. Yeh, I'm a bit excited!

I've read a couple of reviews that claim the rear suspensions on the V7 III works better then on previous models in part due to relocation of the upper mount. Can anyone here verify the improvement in performance?

It'll take more than a mount when the OEM components are so poor.

I'm wondering if they're different units on the III's?

Jim's doing the front forks because he said they need some machining, that's out of my wheelhouse. After my ride home I'll be better equipped to decide what to do with the rear suspension. Nut'n back there I can't do..

Agreed 100%.  We did the front on my V7-works a treat.
As for "better" OEM on the II's or III's, I wouldn't think so.  It's where every OEM cuts costs.  It won't take a ton of $$ to make it much better.

Tell the boys I said hi.  I always buy them lunch if they are working on my bike(s) all day.

I have Hagons on the rear thanks to Dave Quinn and having Matris kit installed on the front.  Will report once setup properly. Riding in NYC as well.

Paul,

The best place for lodging is the Days Inn  just down the road a piece in Danbury.  Both Jim and I have stayed there when we visit.

The guys at the shop know the best places for lunch.

I may be up there that Tuesday.

pm me if I can be of further assistance of if you just want to B.S.

regards,

Gerry

The '13 Stone's could come with either Sachs or Olle rear shocks and either Marzocchi of Kaifa forks.  My '13 came with Olle and Kaifa, and the ride was somewhat harsh (5'10", 190 lbs).  My '16 Stone also came with Olle and Kaifa (those were the only types installed on the '16).  Somehow, the ride is much smoother than the '13's ride.  Go figure.

A big +1 here.....my '13 Stone about launched me off the seat on the rough Montana roads I used to break the bike in....the '16 model V7II  seems sooooo much better, very smooth.   Can't figure it out but I'm not complaining.
