That engine looks like it was made by a jeweler .
And yes one hour open time 3-4
It was funny to see everyone hanging out at 2:30 in the rain waiting for the gate to slide open
Next day drove up to stelvio pass very impressive I will return on a bike one day!!!

Yes, 3 PM to 4 PM.   I was there on Thursday, quite a large group on that day.

Going to the museum reminds me, again, that Guzzi was once a real motorcycle manufacturer with an imaginative owner and impressive technical staff.  All gone now, it's today an assembly plant with an impressive history and 130 assembly line employees who aren't fully employed.  Given the ongoing interest in the factory and today's emphasis on 'authenticity' I think it could be a gold mine - but under Piaggio it never will be.

I bought a wonderful two volume book set at Valassi that describes the interaction over time of the factory and the town.  Mostly in Italian but lots of photos.  The previous weekend was the annual event so there were a number of copies floating around the Guzzi stores in Mandello.

I was brave enough to poke my finger into the V8 carb intake. I don't have big fingers.

Tusayan, I saw the 1st volume when in Mandello in July, but didn't find a copy to buy.  Do you know if it is available via internet?

Thanks,
Shawn

Valassi had several copies in hand but I have a feeling they don't do business on the net.  Mamma Ciccia (the B&B style hotel) had a copy in the lobby that looked like it might be for sale.  Otherwise I'd write Agostini (the dealer) and see what they have.

I think the town government may have had something to do with the books.  They also sponsored an artistic chromed wire statue of the V8 that's mounted in the center of the roundabout near the factory.

Thanks - I should contact Agostini's.  Got a picture of the V-8 sculpture?
