B11 reaction rod bolt torque setting
« on: July 31, 2017, 01:26:54 PM »
I've just replaced the frame end bush on my B11s' reaction rod and looked at the manual for the bolt torques to put the rod back

I think its 50Nm but the phraselogy in the manual is a bit "curious" and it felt like a hell of a lot more when I undid them (I know its been installed for a while now)

Can somebody confirm that 50 Nm is correct

Cheers

Tris

Yessir Huzo, standard carbon steel bolts rated tensiile strength are shown as 4.2 up to 12.9 for metric and in the US they are 3 up to 8+ Grade. Metrics put the numerical rating on the bolt head and here the have a system of lines on the head. Everything changes of course if you get into specialty fasteners like stainless, heat treated etc.
