Looking for guzzi owners in the detroit metro area
« on: August 20, 2017, 11:53:23 AM »
I just bought a '16 Eldorado and was wondering if there any any other owners of these bikes in the area. Most of the places I stop at look at me like I am from another planet. None of my friends ride so just looking for someone to ride with or where a good bike nite may be.

Most of the Detroit area guys are probably on their way home from the Michigan rally today . Be patient , someone will speak up .

ChefSteve

I live in Texas but find myself in Detroit fairly often.   Also Warren and Milford areas.  I may not have my Guzzi with me but we could certainly link up sometime.

One of these days I'm going to take the Guzzi on a Dallas to Detroit run.  But need some extra time to do that.

I'm in Rochester, on the north side of the Detroit metro area. I may not qualify, however, as my Guzzis are of the older persuasion -- 1976, 1983 and 1986. I'm also not much of a bike night person. That being said, there are pretty active gatherings in Royal Oak. Wednesday's tend to be Harley-ish while Thursday's have more of a sport bike orientation. Guzzi riders will be equally out of place on either night.

You will find a greater mix of classics and less well-known brands and bikes in Ypsilanti in the Depot Town area on Tuesday nights. Depot Town in Ypsilanti is worth a daytime visit, too. You can stop by Cafe Racer, a motorcycle shop whose name is self-explanatory. It's nice to see a place working on classics where they don't feel the need to demonstrate their "craft" by showering angle grinder sparks throughout the shop. They do actual work. Then there's the last remaining Hudson dealership (genuine parts still in stock and Hudson automobiles on the floor), as well as the Orphan Car Museum. Not too far from there is a fire apparatus museum. Depot Town itself has an interesting restaurant scene in a sort of hip, urban context. Try The Wurst Bar for a wide range of brews and the odd sausage.

Send me a PM and we can see if our coordinates work out.

Thanks for the replies. I actually bought this bike in Austin,TX and rode it back to Northville, MI. I know the folks at Cafe Racer, they did some work on an old RZ350 I had. Did not know about the tues bike night though. Anytime you want to go rinding and would welcome some company let me know I love this bike. See below
