Unmitigated risk aversion is the new Puritanism; complete with witch hunts funny outfits and humorless preachers thundering doom. The Deity is Safety; Satan is a Lawyer; but the object is the same: to suck the life out of life and tell you how to live it.

Very kind offer. Perhaps closer to the October Okie rally. THAT way they will be fresher, and I can give them to the guys around the fire....:)

:clock:If you people want to poison yourselves, feel free; just don't do it around me. It may smell wonderful, but it is truly stupid. Buff said.u

Again, I feel like I am hearing from my ex. I am truly sorry, dear. I promise never to do it again. I don't know what came over me. I shall go out behind the house and reflect on my shortcomings...

Apparently Webmost likes to give cigars away. He does it by the can full (which he calls a "bomb"). At least I hope that is what he means

Well, you know, all's fair in love and war.

If you love cigars, and your spouse thinks they stink and are horrible, BOTH of those positions are ethically and morally defensible.   It's not like one person is "wrong" and the other is "right".

So, as a smoker of cigars, you have to decide what it's worth to you to smoke a cigar.   And your spouse has to decide what will happen if you DO smoke cigars when she knows that you know that she hates them but you do it anyway.    And there are certain aspects of your marriage in which SHE is in total and complete control ... and if she executes the "nuclear option" for a week or two, you've got to decide on your priorities!    :thewife:

Lucky for me we both love motorcycling.   No, not luck - our first date in 1971 was on a motorcycle, so that's always been a given for both of us.  Cigars were very one-sided, and came later .....

Well, yes, you do, though. For one thing, the cigar comes to visit right under your nose. So how do you not smell that. Secondly, you suck a mouthful in and then you blow it out your nose. That's called retrohale.

Webmost,
I can't smell. Maybe it is from burning pin feathers from chickens, maybe it is from the acrid smoke of branding calves, maybe from searing the skin when you butcher a hog, maybe it is from the smell of cheap perfume from slut puppies so I can't smell but I enjoy the taste of a good cigar.

I smoked genuine cubans when I was in the Navy at Gitmo in 1964. At the National in Canada I bought some "cuban cigars". What a waste of money. Be careful if you are buying so called cuban cigars.

It is 5:30 am. Time to fire up the first one of the day.
