Guzzi sighting and Spaghetti rally
« on: October 13, 2017, 07:17:34 PM »
Anybody here?

Was driving on the Eastern freeway in Melbourne Friday afternoon and saw for the first time another V7. Pretty sure it was a green V7 cafe. Had the headers taped and what looked like Staintune mufflers although possibly shorter than mine. Sounded great whatever they were.

Great rally at a glorious site. Well over 200 bikes in attendance and over 260 overall participants. It's not letting me upload pics will try again later

Nice trophies.

I have no difficulty recognizing some of the parts but I cannot read the titles on the trophies.

Hopefully one is not for " biggest clutch issue ".
That's the combustion chamber of the turbo shaft. It is supposed to be on fire. You just don't usually see it but the case and fairing fell off.

Hey thanks Ozrider. Massive turnout. Must have been a noisey campsite with so many beer fueled motorcyclists in tents snoring and gassing off after the festivities. Was great weather by the looks of it.

The green V7 I saw there was a very tidy V7 Sport ((ridden over from Adelaide). There was a red V7 Classic, a black Classic, and I saw the rider of a white Classic, at least 2 2TB Racers & one 1TB Racer, as well as my Special. Counted a dozen Cali 1100's, only 2 of which had the same colour scheme. Didn't see ANY GRiSOs. Lots of other lovely machines, including an Arturo Magni, 2 Nuovo Falcones, modified SPs, Eldos & Ambos, more than a few T3 Cali's, a Cali II, at least one V50, Andy's Pantah was there once more, more than a few LM's (common as muck) and many, many more. Again a great rally - well organised, and some chances to meet people. Excellent ride down & back (arguably the best part of the weeks trip) over the Snowys & through the Murray Valleys - green as, with lots of water - stunning.
2010 V7 Classic, 2014 V7 Special
1996 1100 Sport Carb (in NZ), 2004 V11 LeMans (in UK)
Carberry Enfield V-Twin, 2008 Royal Enfield Electra, 2006 RE Electra 535

So I did - there were at least 2 of the mighty 750's that I remember, a red one & a black one. I tried to chase up other small block riders while there, but didn't do it enough, what with catching up with old friends from afar, the obligatory ride of test track no. 3 (Whitfield - Mansfield) on Sat morning, & the BOQ on Sunday. For all the abounding fellowship, there's still a vague feeling of opportunities lost. Resolve to do better next time

Here's a couple of snaps (didn't take many), one on the way down, the other on the way back.

When camping, one must have a fire, and the T3 is such a workhorse.

Don't spare the whip. The V7's don't mind a bit of whip now and again. There's a lot of fun left after 5k rpm
