I am planning to do it again.  Not sure if I want to go through all the hassle of setting up a pledge page.  But I plan to join up with my riding group.

"Where does my fundraising go exactly?

The Movember Foundation will invest funds raised by the gentlefolk of The Distinguished Gentleman�s Ride into approved programs inline with the funding principals of both parties.

100% of funds raised will go to the Movember Foundation who will then refund The Distinguished Gentleman�s Ride to cover their costs associated with running the event. No less than 70% of the total funds raised will be invested directly into the Movember Foundation. It is the Movember Foundation�s policy that funding awards do not allow or support institutional overhead so we can maximise the level of funding applied to research, health services interventions and their evaluation.

Investment in 2017 will be split between prostate cancer clinical research, prostate cancer health services and men�s mental health and suicide prevention projects.

Now folks can make their choices. I was burned by Wounded Warrior that started good, then got taken over by lawyers who mae a ton of money from donations.

yep. last year I raised funds and didn't ride for this reason. This year I'm going to TRY to do both. All depends on how much 'shine John circulates Saturday...

Last year I used the DGR as a date I needed to get my Moto Guzzi project completed by. I work better with a deadline. I made it, I had less than 20 miles on this bike ever before the event.

I had my wife ride my Ducati Monster as a chase bike and carry some tools, just in case.

We had such a great time. Even though I had issues, my shift linkage fell off and I found out that my charging system wasn't working, which ended with me having to get the trailer to get my bike home,  my wife liked it so much that she asked me to build a vintage bike for her to ride for this year.

I got her Yamaha XS400 Brat / Tracker thing completed and we will be riding in the Cleveland Ohio event. I hope to meet some other Guzzi riders this year.

Just caught this thread as I sipped Sunday morning coffee. Firstly: congratulations to participants and hope your weather is fine. We don't have this ride here because it is too late in the season to guarantee free and clear roads... which is unfortunate.
We do have a season opener called Ride for Dad. Same concept and donation target just not as elegant.
It is your basic Harley parade with a few other marques showing up.
This year I dressed in leathers, suspenders, a dress shirt and tie. Nobody got the reference but when asked I said it was to counteract the grubby t-shirts and dew-rags.
Gentlemans ride across Canada shows 4.3 million and rising for today. Wish I could have joined one.

We just left the Cleveland ride. We had at least 131 bikes. They said 129 just as my wife and I pulled in.

It is 90 degrees and humid, I am calling it the Disgusting Sweatymans Ride

We had a good turnout at the Chattanooga ride (67 riders signed up) and we raised over $11,000. It was hot and humid here, too, more like late August than late September. Counting mine, there was one Guzzi! Several Triumph Bonnevilles and Bobbers, a Royal Enfield (ridden by the female half of the local dealer couple), a few vintage BMWs, a Ural outfit, some Harley Shovelheads and Ironheads, all in all a good selection of rides.

HOT in Pittsburgh!  98 riders registered, maybe 60 - 70 bikes there, about 10% Guzzi that I saw - not a bad average....
