I aways like to run the snake.. it was too hot  to ride today, so Ihad the Santa Monica mountains to my self.
Between the trees, you can see Edward's corner.. the first when headed down to the Rock Store.

This is justly famous Latigo  Canyon. I've never stopped on it to take a picture. At times, there is a 30 mph speed limit. If you can maintain 30 on it, I'll lift my helmet to you.. because you can *ride* a motorcycle.

A face only a mother could love.

I will say, though, that after riding in the mountains in Sandy Eggo and the SMMs I'm beginning to feel a little motherly.. :boozing:

:thumb:  Thanks for the nice pics.  Now that I have a motorcycle, I wish I still lived in my home state.  So many beautiful roads to explore, and lovely views to lose yourself in.

Great roads! Iv'e been riding them since the 1970's. My H1 was a pig, but Latigo on my RD400F was about as fun as they come. My Ducati was too much. Seen many a crash from overcooking those corner as well.

Chuck, If I'd been riding with you on my MZ I'da showed you that road is indeed doable @ over 30 mph speeds.   Those are the kinda roads a MZ can really show an advantage if you've done them before.  And I don't understand why you think your MZ is ugly. I think mine is a work of art.  :thumb:

I was in Malibu on Monday for business.  Took my V7iii over Kanan Dume to meet some clients.  Beautiful day.

I live right at the bottom of Angeles Crest.  There have been a few fatalities recently.  I don't ride too often this time of year, as it seems safer when winter kicks in.  I worry about another rider blowing a corner and taking me out.  Best days are overcast in the city, keeps most riders away, and get above 3,000 ft. And it's usually bright and sunny on the mountain.

Oh, forgot. As a ride report ain't worth nuthin without food pix, I stopped by the Reel Inn for a bowl of their reely good clam chowder. A clam in every bite. Dorcia is jealous..
It *is * the best I've ever had.

Stabil in the tank, drained the carbs, *washed it* since I like it now.. :bike-037:    lubed the chain. She's ready for a short hibernation.
Shopping for tires. The front is cupping on the sides, and the back just hit the wear bars. 2600 miles. (!) Maybe I should get some race tires?

the New Englander in me is reeling in indignation....but I'll grant you your assessment. I respect your taste. That looks like a New England style, so at least they knew what to build upon.

Thanks for sharing these pics.

So many roads....

Maybe we haven't had *good* NE clam chowda, Kip.. but Dorcia agrees that the Reel Inn's is the best she's ever had. <shrug>  Admittedly, when we're out in Maine, we generally gorge ourselves on our friend Rolf's lobstah.

Well, I have paid my karma - l took your key for about ten minutes at the rally and then felt bad and brought it to you at the restaurant. I then visited friends who live up there and left my work/house/car keys at their place.

Just got back from a round trip up there with my wife to get them - had to leave work at lunch and everything !

That's the combustion chamber of the turbo shaft. It is supposed to be on fire. You just don't usually see it but the case and fairing fell off.
